Mary K. Carnello, 93, of Coal Center, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023. She was born Sunday, Nov. 24, 1929, in Philipsburg, Pa., daughter of the late George and Julia Sawayda Zelenick. She was a member of the former Full Gospel Church in California, Pa. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two infant children, Gary and Linda Carnello; and a brother, William Zelenick. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 70 years, Geno Carnello of Coal Center; daughter and son-in-law, Debra Carnello and Kevin Fisher of Coal Center; granddaughter, Lauren Carnello Fisher of Coal Center; grandson, Brian Carnello Fisher of Durham, N.C.; and Izzy the cat. Friends will be received at MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, Pa., from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023. Funeral services and interment will be private and at the convenience of her family.
