Monongahela Council eyes demolition of ‘yellow house’

Some Monongahela residents are eager to get rid of this house on Ninth Street.

Monongahela council heard multiple public comments last week, ranging from complaints about obstructed road ways to concerns about police department protocols. Resident Christine Somales asked council members about the planned demolition of 210 Ninth St., or “the yellow house,” a long-time nuisance property in the neighborhood. “I’ll be fast,” Somales said. “The yellow house is still there.”
