Several parents said they were upset by Ringgold School District’s decision to move the registration cut-off up by a month for incoming kindergarten students. State law sets the minimum age for kindergarten students at 4 years and 7 months. Prior to the 2023-24 school year registration deadline, the district moved its age cut-off from Sept. 1 to July 31.
