Monessen Elementary Center hosted a pep rally Friday morning for the WPIAL section champion boys and girls high school basketball teams. Students from kindergarten through fifth grade lined the hallways and cheered for a parade of players, coaches, cheerleaders and “Paws,” the Monessen High School mascot. Leading the parade, MyAsia Majors carries the girls basketball section trophy alongside cheerleader Lacey Caterino as they walk past first-grade students.
