Tigers’ rally falls short

At the end of the third quarter Wednesday night, McKeesport faced a 10-point deficit in its WPIAL Class 5A quarterfinal matchup against Gateway. The Tigers spent most of the night playing from behind, but continued to scratch and claw despite being down on the scoreboard. When the fourth quarter arrived, the rally was on. McKeesport managed to come back and take two separate leads in the final three minutes of the frame. But in the end, the No. 12 Tigers fell short in a 53-51 setback at the hands of the No. 4 Gators at Norwin High School.
