JoAnn Hynok, 88, of Plum Borough, passed April 2, 2023. JoAnn was born Jan. 12, 1935, in Elizabeth, the daughter of the late Sytmond and Grace Moffit Criswell. JoAnn was an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables, she enjoyed her fruit trees and canned everything she grew. She was a former member of a bowling league and Girl Scout leader. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband of over 54 years, Vincent A Hynok; children, Phyllis (Bob) Brinker of Grayling, Mich., Valerie Stockwell of Gaston, Ky., Nadine Goodwin, Richard Hynok and Vincent Hynok II, all of Plum Borough; grandchildren, JoAnn, Ruby, Valerie, Cody, Shane, Jim and Jackie Grace; and great-grand-children, Arthur, Jasmine Criswell, Simon Jr., Shay Sytmond, Beatrice, Francheska and Bruce Jr. She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2023, with the Rev. Harold Mele officiating at STEPHEN P DOLENCE JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., 557 Unity Center Road (Unitu), Plum Borough. Interment will be in Plum Creek Cemetery.
