Superintendent, chief say fight wasn’t ‘riot’

The Monday afternoon Monessen High School “brawl” or “riot” as its has been described on social media, was a fight among three to five girls who were surrounded by dozens of other students trying to record the event, according to Superintendent Dr. Robert Motte. Motte said Tuesday that he’s frustrated that students spend so much time and energy planning to fight one another specifically to garner “views” on social media.
