Local director wins award for ‘Wolf Hollow’

In the opening scene of “Wolf Hollow,” about a half dozen people are murdered by a werewolf — somebody loses their head, another loses their eyes and the monster tears up and munches on the rest.  The carnage lasts less than five minutes, but it sets the tone for the remainder of the film. “I just want to have fun within the first five minutes,” director Mark Cantu said. “It was two nights in a row of just tearing people apart and coming up with different kills, and I was surrounded by 40 or 50 people that were having the greatest time.”
