Invenergy nixes proposed Elizabeth Twp. power plant

Seven years of community opposition came to a head late Friday night as Invenergy announced that it has abandoned its proposal to build the Allegheny Energy Center in Elizabeth Township. Environmental groups have argued for years that Invenergy’s air quality permit contained weak pollution controls.
