Allegheny County to provide shelter for homeless on cold winter nights

The Allegheny County Department of Human Services continues to work to improve its plans to help those in need of shelter as the temperatures keep dropping. Last month, the DHS announced it had increased the number of shelter beds in the county by 65% compared to 2021. As December gets underway, the DHS has revised its Code Blue Action Plan meant to protect those people who are street homeless.
