Joseph Burger, of Monessen, passed away Dec. 30, 2023, after brief health complications. He was born on July 22, 1938, in Charleroi, to the late Joseph and Mary Burger. He is survived by his sister Nancy Schuster (late husband, Jerry); and brother, George (wife, Marie). Joseph served his country in the Army. He joins, in passing, his beloved wife, Georgetta (George and Irene (Dohanich). Joseph was father to the late Raymond Burger and is survived by Cynthia Rollings (late husband, Robert), Joseph Burger Jr. and Raymie Burger. He is grandfather to Rebecca and Christopher Rollings (wife, Cicely Murray). He will be missed by his pets, Buddy and Precious. Joe will be remembered for his keen, untiring ethic. He was a dedicated Mon Valley millworker, working for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel for many years. From there, he never sat still, even after his retirement. An avid carpenter, landscaper, mechanic, engineer and more, he loved to stay busy. His busy-bodied lifestyle led to his unwavering energy and physique, far into his years, until the very end. He’ll be remembered for his constant smile and humorous ways. He was an excellent artist, constantly sketching and doodling, often leaving these hilarious renderings for co-workers and loved ones. Always keeping a tight schedule, he never missed a single day, running to his favorite corner store to play his numbers. Joe was highly respected in his community, his family and his union.
