After weeks of having more questions than answers, Washington County residents have finally learned details surrounding a cyberattack that nearly shut down county government and compromised sensitive information. At Thursday’s commissioners meeting, Solicitor Gary Sweat provided details about the attack, what was involved in resolving it, the price tag that came along with that resolution and concerns over a special meeting in which the decision to pay the ransom was approved.
