Eagles’ season comes to a close

Even though track & field season does not start until this weekend, there was a track meet inside AHN Arena at Peters Township High School in the PIAA Class 2A second-round contest.
Serra Catholic and Fort Cherry were humming offensively all night, but a late run in the opening quarter proved to be the difference as the Eagles fell 88-71 Wednesday night.
“There was a lot of offense tonight,” Serra Catholic coach Anthony Corso said. “But unfortunately for us, we could not get that one or two defensive stops that could have gotten us back into the game. We knew we had to play defense tonight because their offense was very fast-paced and they like to play with a lot of tempo. That was the difference maker tonight.”
