BVA’s Ross likely out for season

Belle Vernon senior pitcher Talia Ross will likely miss the rest of the season after rupturing her Achilles tendon. The Lock Haven commit was injured during live batting practice Wednesday, according to head coach Tom Rodriguez.

Belle Vernon standout softball pitcher Talia Ross sustained a freak injury during practice on Wednesday and could miss the rest of the season. Ross, who had a school-record-tying 20-strikeout game last weekend against Latrobe, said an MRI showed a ruptured Achilles tendon. The senior left-hander will see an orthopedic surgeon next week to determine the severity of the injury and treatment options.
