Planet Roof, a small Canonsburg-based roofing business run by Mon Valley natives, recently completed two free roof jobs for the nonprofit recovery group Club Serenity, which will use the buildings for client housing.
Planet Roof, co-owned by Adam Fincik and Travis Kenny, has operated for roughly eight years and originally began under the name A and T Roofing and Construction. Club Serenity, based in Charleroi, provides a variety of services for those struggling with substance abuse issues.
Club Serenity reached out to Planet Roof to inquire about roofing prices, and Planet Roof decided to complete two jobs for the nonprofit group for no charge, according to Fincik. The two residential properties will be rented out to Club Serenity clients to live in as a part of their recovery.
“We really struck up a friendship and a relationship right away, and now, it’s to the point where it’s like, ‘Hey, when you guys have something, let us know, and we’ll let you know if we can help,’” Fincik said.
