A firefighters memorial service was held for John William “Bill” Bunardzya, a well-known member of the firefighting community who died in the line of duty April 7. Bunardzya had been an active member, safety officer and trustee with the Rostraver Central Fire Department Station 105 since 2004. He also served as a volunteer firefighter with Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Company #2 from 1971 through 1975, and then joined the North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department.
