Andrew ‘Butch’ Caprio – Formerly of Forward Township

 

Andrew “Butch” Caprio, 74, formerly of Manown in Forward Township, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at Mon Valley Care Center. A graduate of Mon Valley Catholic High School, he attended Robert Morris University. He was the former proprietor of Foodland in Donora and Monongahela and Save A Lot in Butler. He was a former member of the Monongahela Elks and IMBS Club in Monongahela. Born Jan. 1, 1945, in Monongahela, he was a son of the late Anthony and Bruna Traversari Caprio. Prior to becoming a resident at Mon Valley Care Center, Butch lived with his dear sister Toni and her daughter Jaimie. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Paul) Caprio-Gaska of Cary, N.C.; grandson, Sage; sisters, Toni (Mike) Mendicino of Elizabeth Township and Arlene Inks (the late Donald) of Avon, Ohio; niece, Jaimie (Joe) Amati and their daughter, Aleena; nieces and nephews, Lynne (Gary) Kopechek, Don (Brigit) Inks and Matthew (Jamie) Inks; also, many cousins with whom he was very close. The family would like to give a special thank you to the amazing staffs of ViaQuest Hospice and Mon Valley Care Center. No visitation is planned. A memorial Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, at St. Damien of Molokai Church in Monongahela with Father Kevin Dominik officiating. FRIENDS AND FAMILY PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH AT NOON ON SATURDAY.
