Next month marks the centennial anniversary for a McKeesport-based club created by women of color for women of color.

Those who are members of the Semper Fidelis Club are celebrating the milestone with the “100 years – 100 reasons” anniversary luncheon from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 7 at the DoubleTree Hotel Monroeville.

Tickets cost $45 and can be purchased by calling Laura Green at 412-951-8385 or Joy Epps Simmons at 412-969-9008.

President Norine A. Jenkins said the club was the brainchild of Annie Marshall, who was inspired by Josephine St. Pierre Ruffin of Boston.
